2024-2025 School Supplies

 

The 2023-2024 school year was the first year we purchased school supplies for the entire student body in an effort to have a more standardized approach to organization across grade levels and content areas. This year we are leaning in to our goal of organization even more diligently with a renewed effort around resourcing students with standard supplies and ensuring they have access and time to organize them. Organization not only benefits them as students, but it is a transferable life skill that will serve them beyond their time in BSD. 

 

Five Oaks will be providing and requiring each student use the following individual supplies:

 

• 3 inch binder

• Dividers

• 5 spiral notebooks

• Pencil pouch

• Pencils

• Pens

• Wired earbuds compatible with their chromebooks (if students choose to bring airpods and/or phones, they will remain in their lockers)

 

Each classroom will be equipped with community supplies including:

 

• Dry erase markers

• Colored pencils

• Markers

• Page protectors

• Highlighters

• Gluestickers and tape

• Etc.

 

The only items we are asking families to supply for students are:

• A backpack large enough to hold a 3” binder for going to and from school if wanted. We have some backpacks available at school for families in need. These will remain in their lockers during the school day. 

• A water bottle if needed

• A lunchbox if necessary (school breakfast and lunch is free for all students at Five Oaks)

 

To offset the costs of supplies, we have set up a way for families to donate online through the online payment system. The chart below reflects 2023 prices; this year the costs were a little over $30 per student. Additional donations can be made to help other students and families as well. We understand this is a hardship for many families and no child will be denied supplies as these are required to be used.
